Ceiling fans are undoubtedly a great way to cool down your living room affordably, plus add worth to your home if you want to sell it later. Although not all the fans are affordable, Harbor Breeze stands out among the competition with its easy-to-reach pricing.
And the story doesn’t end here; Harbor Breeze ceiling fans are eye-catching with their unique designs, reliable with their long-lasting parts, and perform quietly. But due to the availability of tens of different varieties, choosing one Harbor Breeze fan is always confusing.
Therefore, I am gonna share my experience, with many Harbor Breeze fans, in this detailed guide to make things easier for you. I’ll review all the fans I have interacted with, along with their pros and cons, so you can decide easily which one will suit your needs.
Top Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fans
1
Harbor Breeze Mazon Flush Mount 44″ Ceiling Fan
One of my first Harbor Breeze purchases is a Mazon Flush Mount 44-inch indoor ceiling fan, perfect for my daughter’s 100-square-foot room. Not only does it fit a small room, it effectively moves the air without triggering my ears with its almost no-sound performance.
Why I Opted For It?
If I name one thing that played a key role when I bought this fan, it would be its sleek, modern design with reversible blades. Although I opted for nickel to match my home décor, you can buy this fan in both bronze and nickel versions as per your choice and your home’s needs.
Easy Installation, Adequate Lighting
What I experienced is that installing this fan is really simple. I like the hook that helps you hang the fan while you connect the wires. For your information, I took a little shortcut and put the fan together before attaching it, and that worked out well.
This fan doesn’t cost me much running expenses with a total of 58-watt power usage. I love the 18-watt built-in fan light as it’s not super bright because my daughter doesn’t like too much light in her room. But this light isn’t enough if you need a lot of light in your room.
Things I like About It
- I highly regard this fan for its affordability, quality, and performance.
- I enjoy its quiet operations and the peaceful ambiance it maintains.
- It ensures consistent airflow that contributes to a comfortable environment.
- I like to enter my daughter’s room with just adequate but not too much light.
How Does It Perform?
Like many other Harbor Breeze fans, the Mazon ceiling fan also has a 3-speed reversible motor that can make the fan fast, medium, or slow. It really helped me move air around my daughter’s room. I can also make the air go up or down effectively.
However, remember, when the fan is on High, it blows papers and small things around. It still makes the air move and cools the room on low, but it isn’t effective. Medium is a good balance; I always use this setting on the fan.
2
Harbor Breeze Merrimack 52″ Matte Bronze LED Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fan
If you have 400 square feet of room, one thing is clear, a 44-inch ceiling fan is not gonna be enough. I faced the same problem when I was looking for a ceiling fan for my spacious drawing room and found Harbor Breeze Merrimack 52-inch as a perfect match.
This Harbor Breeze ceiling fan is a special kind of modern fan that has won awards for looking really nice and has five long-lasting fan blades. I personally like it due to its simple style and waterproof design that is perfect for both indoor and outdoor settings.
Design and Lighting
Design-wise, I admire 5 barnwood-style java-finished blades that not only look good but also match a vast range of home décors. Along with that, the light kit is not heavy and has a clear glass shade that looks like a globe. This makes the light just right.
Simply put, I really enjoy this cool-looking fan because it has good light and doesn’t break easily. In addition, I can make the fan go fast, medium, or slow and turn it in reversible directions to make you feel comfy in any season.
What Makes It Stands Out?
I want to share my story: I bought this fan when I needed a new one for our drawing room. I wanted something that looked a little old-fashioned. I also wanted a fan with a remote control because I didn’t want any chains hanging down. I bought this since it came up to my all these wishes.
What I Like The Most?
- The fan’s lightweight design is a real winner for me. I appreciate having a fan that’s sturdy and reliable.
- I enjoy the bright and clear light it provides, making my room feel welcoming and well-lit.
- Another thing I really like about this fan is how little electricity it consumes, saving electricity bills.
- This fan’s strong performance and wide coverage circulate the air well in spacious areas.
What To Consider?
I have faced a small problem. When I finished installing the fan and turned it on, the first light bulb stopped working. The next day, the second bulb also stopped working. Then, I bought another high-quality bulb, replaced it, and now, everything is working fine.
TIP: Consider getting better light bulbs if you face the same issue as me.
3
Harbor Breeze Alloy Two-Light 42″ Ceiling Fan
Suppose you didn’t like the Mazon Flush Mount 44-inch indoor ceiling fan, the first on the list, and want even a bit smaller fan. In such a case, this Harbor Breeze Alloy Two-Light 42-inch low-profile ceiling fan might be a perfect option with a smaller three-blade setup.
Although my friend bought it, we installed, set up, and tested it collectively. I found it good-looking to see, easy to install, quiet to run, and ideal to save electricity. It is simply great to use in the smaller, 100 sq ft indoor setting of your house for perfect airflow.
Why Have We Chosen It?
When my friend Jane Doe and I sat and started researching the different fans, one thing was clear, we wanted a compact 42-inch fan. This is the first reason we opt for Harbor Breeze Alloy Two-Light 42-inch. But a few more key features of this fan also attracted us.
It had reversible fan blades, meaning they could rotate both up and down, preventing the imbalance in the room due to cold air and hot air. Also, other features we discovered were its 3-speed levels to choose an appropriate speed level, low-power usage, two lights, etc.
What Two-Light Design Mean?
Simply put, two-light means the fan has two lighting fixtures that can be controlled independently. As far as the Harbor Breeze Alloy Two-Light ceiling fan matters, it has two candelabra bulbs that use 40 watts of energy.
Although Jane Doe can use the same bulbs to get a lot of light in his room, he doesn’t do this. Instead, he used one light kit for general lighting and the other light kit for mood lighting. Or, sometimes, one light kit for daytime and the other light kit for nighttime.
What About The Design?
I appreciate the 4083 cu ft/min air flow capacity of this fan, but also the elegant design. The fan has a cool gunmetal color, combined with reversible graphite or black finish blades and an opal-frosted glass light kit. The fan’s design is super fancy, and I really, really like it a lot.
4
Harbor Breeze Armitage 52″ Ceiling Fan
I recently renovated my home and installed an all-new lighting system throughout the premise. To match the new home design, I wanted a fan that hugs the ceiling since one of our bedrooms has only 9 feet of height. So I went for the Harbor Breeze Armitage ceiling fan.
It not only hugs the ceiling after its easy-peasy installation but also looks eye-catching with its beautiful white oak-finished design. If you have your ceiling, walls, and floor in a white color theme, this indoor fan is gonna complement your home’s overall aesthetics.
What Are Its Prominent Features?
After the design, one thing that impresses me the most is the fan’s performance. Combined with a powerful DC brushless motor and five 52-inch fan blades, it has provided me with an airflow of 3376 cu ft/min when set on the High-speed level.
Depending on whether I have set it on low, medium, or high speed, 38 dB to 52 dB noise level. Although I didn’t hear any noise at the low and/or medium levels, I was able to spot a continuous sound coming from the fan when I set it at the high-speed level.
Why Is Its Light Kit Impressive?
I have found the built-in Alabaster-glass dimmable light kit adequate for my room. Despite it using only 6.5 watts of power, the 600-lumen LED bulb can light up my entire room efficiently. I think it can compete with a 60-watt incandescent bulb without any issues.
What I Like About It?
- I love the way how easy to install this fan is, and it hugs the ceiling closely
- The motor has a lifetime warranty, and parts have a 1-year warranty
- I can confidently say that it’s ideal for rooms around 400 square feet with 52-inch blades.
- Its LED bulb can last up to 25,000 hours
Can You Install New Blades?
Yes, you can remove the original fan blades from the fan’s body and put on different ones if you want. However, if you keep the original 52-inch fan blades on, you can expect them to last for a really long time since they are covered in a brushed nickel finish.
5
Harbor Breeze Classic Style Matte Black 52″ Ceiling Fan
Not everybody likes to have a modern-looking fan with a lot of tech-powered features; a few homeowners love to see the grace of old-looking, classic ceiling fans. If you’re one of such enthusiasts, the Harbor Breeze Classic Style Matte Black ceiling fan is perfect for you.
I really appreciate the efforts of the person who designed this classic style fan, adorned with the matte black exterior look. Moreover, the space where I installed it had a lesser ceiling height, and this fan perfectly suited it with its sloped mounting type and 4-inch down rod.
Does It Perform Well? Simply put, yes.
With five 52-inch fan blades, the fan can cover up to 400 square feet of area and circulate adequate air, providing efficient airflow. I can also adjust the fan’s speed with its 3-speed reversible motor movement, while the fan provides up to 2,839 CFM of airflow.
What About The Value For The Money?
Ceiling fans are expensive today but not the Classic Style Matte Black ceiling fan. In most stores, whether online or offline, I found it listed for less than $200. It is really an interesting deal for its value for the money, excellent performance, and modern and stylish looks.
What I Like The Most?
- I love this ceiling fan’s impressive quality considering its price; it is one of the symbols of the best value for the money.
- I can feel the effectively circulating air throughout my room while maintaining quiet operation at all fan speeds.
- I appreciate the fact that the fan has received an Energy Star rating, indicating its energy-saving capabilities and environmentally friendly design.
Can We Attach a Light Kit?
This fan doesn’t come with its own light to keep the design classier. But don’t worry; I found a solution for this. I purchased a separate Harbor Breeze light kit and connected it to the fan, and it worked. The fan is capable of brightening up an external light kit.
6
Harbor Breeze Mayfield Brushed Nickel 44″ Ceiling Fan
Another affordable fan I would love to add to the list is Harbor Breeze Mayfield Brushed Nickel 44″ ceiling fan. This indoor ceiling fan is adorned with a brushed nickel finish that gives it an attractive look, combined with five faux wood blades with a mahogany/maple finish.
How Does It Perform?
Since it is a mid-sized 44-inch ceiling fan, I have used it in both my big room and small kitchen for testing purposes, and it proved itself perfect for both spaces. Therefore, I confidently say that this fan will suit your space, whether a small kids’ room or a big living room.
I admire the fact that the fan features a 3-speed reversible motor that provides more control over the fan and better airflow of up to 2144 CFM in both directions. However, since it’s an AC motor, it might not be as energy-efficient as the DC motors of the same caliber.
What About The Light Kit?
In terms of the light kit, the fan is fitted with a single frosted-glass 40-watt light kit that looked quite good on the fan and matched my home’s white-colored walls. Three bulbs are also included in the box. However, you should not expect a lot of light for a big room.
What Are The Ways To Control It?
To control the fan, there are two ways: a 3-speed pull chain with the HB logo and remote control. Although I am not a big fan of a pull chain and prefer the remote control for wireless control, you choose the methods that you find more convenient.
What Do I Appreciate About It?
- I found this fan really good for what it costs. I feel it’s a great deal due to its bargain price.
- It doesn’t make much noise when it runs. I find it calm and peaceful at all three speeds.
- When I bought it, I got three light bulbs with it. So, if one stops working, later on, I won’t have to buy a new one.
Are There Any Considerations? Yes, there are.
The fan’s installation is a tricky subject for a lot of buyers who bought and installed it. Although I found it easy since I deal with fans on a daily basis, you should keep remembering this.
Also, I feel that the build quality is compromised while saving on the cost.
7
Harbor Breeze Sail Stream 52″ Ceiling Fans
Are you not a big fan of those classic, vintage-looking ceiling fans with many blades? If yes, I suggest you opt for the Harbor Breeze Sail Stream 52″ ceiling fan. It’s a modern-style yet simple 3-blade fan, spanning over 52 inches of diameter when spinning.
Undoubtedly, I have found this fan perfect for 400 square feet of living space. Its three grey fan blades mixed well with the brushed nickel finish, giving an overall pleasant look. I also appreciate the flush-mounted feature for direct and easy installation with the roof.
Is The Performance Good For The Money?
In short, yes. Despite the fact that there are only 3 fan blades, this fan can provide up to 3190 CFM of airflow in a big 400-sq.ft of room. Isn’t it impressive? Simply put, it indeed is. Combined with a 3-speed reversible motor, I can also adjust the air circulation according to the season.
Is The Light Kit Dimmable? Yes, it is.
This ceiling fan has a light attached to it, and the light has a frosted-glass covering. The incandescent LED light is part of the fan but is not a separate bulb. It’s like a bunch of lights together. I can also dim the light with the help of the remote control.
NOTE: I can also turn the light off when the fan is still running. Isn’t it cool?
What Makes This Fan Stands Out?
- The simple yet modern design of this ceiling fan really won my heart. The brushed nickel finish with grey blades looks amazing to me.
- I will be able to control the speed of the fan since it comes with three different speed changes. It also has the reverse airflow feature.
- It doesn’t have a pull chain for its control. I can use only the remote control to control its operations which is convenient for me.
How Much Time Does Its Installation Take?
For your information, I found the setup instructions a bit tricky. However, I was still able to install this fan in one and a half hours, including the ceiling box installation. I suggest you properly align and level the electrical box to get the mounting bracket in place.
Does The Fan Miss Anything?
In terms of utility, this fan doesn’t miss anything. However, I wish that I could switch between white light and warm light according to my mood. This is because my room has white LEDs, recessed lighting, and warm light would stand out. Otherwise, this fan is great.
8
Harbor Breeze Saratoga Oil-Rubbed Bronze 60″ Ceiling Fan
While I have reviewed some 42″, 44″, and 52″ ceiling fans, I thought I should also tell you about an amazing 60-inch ceiling fan. It is none other than one of my favorite, Harbor Breeze Saratoga Oil-Rubbed Bronze 60″ ceiling fan; a perfect combo of technology and style.
This fan is the newest in the Saratoga collection, featuring an upgraded AC motor and mid-body flywheel design with hand-made wooden blades. Made of chromium steel and decorated with the casual oil-rubbed finish, I found this fan perfect for hanging in my living room or bedroom.
What About The Light Kit?
The light kit comes with a pair of 6.5-watt dimmable standard LED bulbs sitting under the white-linen glass bowl. I also found that the two 6.5-watt bulbs provide 2,700K color temperature and a total of 1,200 lumens of light, meaning 600 lumens of light for each bulb.
NOTE: The brightness of 1,200 lumens is like having the light from two regular 60-watt incandescent light bulbs.
How Much Airflow Does It Provide?
As the fan has five 60-inch fan blades, I wasn’t expecting a meager performance. With a 20-degree blade pitch, these curved wooden blades were able to efficiently cover my extra-large over 400-sq.ft of room with up to 6,372 CFM of airflow.
What Makes This Fan Worth Buying?
- The amazing-looking casual design of this fan is perfectly gorgeous. It was the first reason why I bought this fan in the first place.
- I also acknowledge the fact that this 60-inch ceiling fan can cover a large room. With a 3-speed AC motor, you can choose any speed that suits your mood.
- This fan properly lightened my extra-large room with its capacity to provide 1,200 lumens of light.
What Does Manual Reversible Fan Blades Mean?
Simply put, manual reversible fan blades are turned by hand to change the direction of airflow. These can’t be reversed automatically or with the help of remote control. Although the 3-speed motor is remotely reversible, the fan blades need to be manually adjusted seasonally.
What Do We Get In The Box?
The Harbor Breeze Saratoga Oil-Rubbed Bronze 60″ ceiling fan comes with a standard 6-inch L-shape downrod to mount with the ceiling. I also received a remote control inside the box; you can control your ceiling fan without needing the pull chain.
9
Harbor Breeze Bronze Beach Creek 44″ Ceiling Fan
Harbor Breeze is a brand that has launched a wide spectrum of ceiling fans to meet all customers’ budgets, needs, and expectations. If you want to fit a natural-looking, compact, yet elegant ceiling fan in a 100 sq. ft room, you should check out this Beach Creek 44″ ceiling fan.
Its bronze finish with three reversible blades in a dark oak/walnut finish really makes my room eye-catching. Combined with an integrated frosted-glass LED light kit for adequate illumination, this fan’s modern and contemporary look complements my home decor.
Is It a Value-For-The-Money Deal? Yes, it is.
From what I’ve seen, this fan is a good value-for-money deal because it’s not expensive, but it can do a lot of things even if you don’t have much money to spend. It’s also not very big, so it fits well in small spaces. I really like this fan, and I’m really happy with how well it works.
What About The Fan’s Performance?
With a 44-inch diameter and 10.5° blade pitch, the Beach Creek fan produces up to 3,964 CFM of airflow. Moreover, I can choose the perfect level of airflow for my needs with the help of the fan’s 3-speed settings. The remote control in the box helps me do all this from anywhere in the room.
Why Should You Go For This Fan?
- I have found that this fan works really well in small to medium-sized rooms.
- The sleek design adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. What’s great is that the fan can be installed in three different ways.
- I’ve also noticed that the fan has a special kind of light that’s lightweight and fits well with the overall look. It’s really impressive to see.
- It’s a budget-friendly option that works nicely.
Why Is Its Installation Unique?
This fan is designed to be mounted in three different ways. You can use it with a short 6-inch rod for high or sloped ceilings, without the rod for regular or low ceilings, or install it close to the ceiling.
Some people found installing the fan a bit tricky, especially if you want to install it close to the ceiling, as I did. I found that cutting off some of the wire helped, maybe leaving around 6 inches. It was challenging to fit it tightly against the ceiling, but it can be done with patience.
10
Harbor Breeze Lake Placido 52″ Ceiling Fan
I recently purchased the Harbor Breeze Lake Placido 52″ Ceiling Fan for my 300 sq. ft living room as my old fan suddenly stopped working. I was looking for a large, stylish fan that would provide good airflow and be easy to use. The Lake Placido met all of my requirements and more.
I am happy to get the remote control within the box that I can use to adjust the 3-speed motor while sitting on my comfortable couch. Therefore, I don’t even have to touch the pull chains to adjust the speed. I can also reverse the fan’s airflow direction when the season changes.
Why I Love The Design Of This Fan?
I would love to say why someone shouldn’t love such a fan design. Being from the Lake Placido collection, the fan features five reversible blades ornate with a cinnamon/mocha finish. My whole family likes the black iron, rustic and vogue design, and globe-style light kit.
How Does This Fan Perform?
As obvious, 52-inch fan blades are enough to deliver strong airflow in a huge room of up to 400 square feet. During my testing, I found that it can cross the 5,000 CFM of airflow capacity, which is pretty close to 5,100 CFM which is stated by the company.
Can We Use It Outdoor? Yes, you can.
The Lake Placido is a damp-rated ceiling fan, which means it can be used in indoor or outdoor covered spaces. This makes it a versatile fan that can be used in a variety of settings. Although I have been using it in the living room, you can use it outside your home.
Does The Fan Use a Lot Of Power?
In simple words, not really. The Lake Placido can consume 25-67 watts of power depending on whether it’s operating at low-, medium-, or high-speed settings. Despite the fact that it has an AC motor which is a bit less efficient than DC, it uses just average power.
11
Harbor Breeze Hydra Brushed Nickel 70″ Ceiling Fan
Hold on! Something big, unique, and eye-catching, is coming; the Harbor Breeze Hydra Brushed Nickel ceiling fan. This ceiling fan is absolutely my best purchase ever! I’ve had this ceiling fan for more than three years now, and it still looks and operates like new.
Having eight 70-inch blades, this fan can easily handle any extra-large bedroom, living room, and/or dining room with over 400 sq. ft of area. However, remember, you can only use this fan for residential purposes, plus in indoor situations.
What Does It Look Like?
In three words: massive, elegant, and modern. I wish you could see its six 70-inch long, black fan blades with a toffee-colored finish, combined with a brushed fixture finish. They just look amazing! This fan is really well-made and has a modern look.
NOTE: I made this fan even fancier by adding a medallion and painting it the same color as the blades. I have to say, it made the fan look even more elegant and nice.
What I Love The Most About It? Its performance.
It moves a lot of air, providing about 4,851 CFM of airflow. The powerful 6-speed DC motor makes the natural breeze feel like a lot, even at the lowest setting. It’s not a strong breeze that dries your eyes; it’s more of a gentle, steady flow of air that can get a bit chilly after a while.
Thinking it has more settings than usual, I thought a “normal” slow setting would be available. However, this fan’s slowest setting is like what I’d call medium on other fans. So, in my view, this fan starts at medium and goes up really fast (maybe even faster than the regular high setting, perhaps even two notches above).
What Me and Other Customers Think About its Light Kit?
The light is dimmable, which was a happy discovery for me. However, there are two issues with the LED light. It’s not very bright, and it has a yellowish color. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t mind the weak light because I don’t want it to be brighter than the flat screen.
Is The Remote Control Come In The Box? Yes.
The remote control is really nice and simple to use. When you press the “+” or “-” buttons, a blue light at the top shows you which speed the fan is on. You can also find buttons for setting a timer for 2, 4, or 8 hours, and a switch to change the fan’s direction for different seasons.
There are a few more things I can do with the remote:
- There’s a button that makes the light turn off after 1 minute. This is useful when I’m going to sleep or leaving the house so I don’t have to walk in the dark.
- There’s a Security button that makes it seem like I am at home even when I’m not. The light turns on for 5-20 minutes, then off for 60, and then on again for 5-20, until I change the setting. This is a great feature for safety.
- Another button makes the fan create a breeze that feels more natural and varied.
Does The Fan Produce A Lot Of Noise?
The fan is super quiet. I can only hear a nice humming sound, not a loud whooshing wind sound when it’s on speed 6. This fan has 6 speeds, and you can enjoy the natural breeze on different levels. This fan is really comfy, and I liked it so much that I got another one for our bedroom.
12
Harbor Breeze Waveport Bronze 52″ Ceiling Fan
What is the one thing that you notice the most about your existing ceiling fans? If your answer is the design, I have a surprise for you; the Harbor Breeze Waveport 52″ ceiling fan. Why? Because you’ll always appreciate its look whenever you enter your room.
I said that since I always do this. Being from the Waveport collection, this fan comes with five brown-colored blades with a tropical, palm-style design that always catches my attention. The frosted-glass light kit with a pair of two 6.5-watt LED bulbs is like the cherry on top.
Does It Perform Well? In short, excellent.
Not only does the design of this fan make me happy, but also the performance and smooth breeze coming from it. With five fan blades fitted at 14° pitch, combined with a power 3-speed reversible AC motor can produce up to 4,576 CFM of airflow. I found this absolutely impressive.
What Makes This Fan Stands Out?
- I really liked that it comes with pull chains and remote control. With these, I could easily control the light and fan speed without any hassle.
- I found it impressive how little energy this fan consumes, a maximum of 38 watts when at its full speed. It’s a great way to save on electricity.
- One thing that stood out to me is how strong and well-built the fan is. It confirms that it’s made to last for a long time, which is a big plus.
Where Can You Install This Fan?
As this fan is made for both indoor and outdoor use, you have a wide range of options to install it in your home. I have installed this fan on my terrace; this is a damp-rated, durable fan so it has lasted for the last 2 years. Remember, it can cover up to 400 sq. ft of area effectively.
To install this fan, you can either use the 6-inch long downrod that comes in the box or flush mount it with the ceiling. This fan can be installed on a ceiling that’s at an angle of up to 19 degrees. However, for higher ceilings, you can buy longer downrods separately.
Conclusion
Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fans offer a diverse range of options that cater to various needs and preferences. While every fan is made for different purposes, I suggest you know your exact needs, requirements, and reasons to buy a fan when picking one.
Short on budget? If so, I have three choices for you. You can choose between the Harbor Breeze Classic Style Matte Black 52″, Mayfield Brushed Nickel 44″, or Beach Creek 44″ ceiling fan. All provide smooth breeze and reversible features. Use your space size and design preferences to differentiate the three and choose one.
On the other hand, if budget is not an issue but you want a ceiling fan for outdoor settings, you can check these names: Harbor Breeze Merrimack 52-inch, Lake Placido 52″, and Waveport 52″ ceiling fan. All are perfect for a room of up to 400 sq. ft of area.
Remember, even if you have a very large room, I have some suggestions for you. See the Harbor Breeze Saratoga Oil-Rubbed Bronze 60″ ceiling fan with 6,372 CFM or, my favorite, Harbor Breeze Hydra Brushed Nickel 70″ for an extra-large room.
